CHURCH STAFF

Karl Stuckenberg has been a United Methodist pastor for over 25 years. Ordained in 1996 after graduating from the Claremont School of Theology, he has served churches all around Southern California. Karl loves to teach others about the amazing love of God through preaching, storytelling and bringing the Bible to life. He believes we learn best about God in community and for that reason, he's passionate about church camps, mission trips, Bible studies, and anything else that brings people together to connect, grow, and serve.

Most importantly, he's a husband to Kristen and dad to Kayla and Kendal. When he's not at church, he loves spending time with them. And when they are all busy, he loves to play the drums which he's been doing for over 40 years (just ask the neighbors).

Emily Bredthauer has been active in various positions in Children & Family Ministries for the past 13 years. She is currently the Director of Program Ministries at St. Andrew's.

One of Emily's greatest joys is to see children, youth, and adults meaningfully connect with God and each other. She has a Masters in Social Work with an emphasis on children and families.

Emily and her husband of over 20 years, Greg, have four children, ages 7-16. She loves God, reading, traveling, sewing, Vacation Bible School, and eating dark chocolate.

Jens Hurty has been involved in music all of his life. The son of two choral directors, he grew up singing and playing piano from a young age. In high school Jens realized his passion for choral music and decided to pursue a career in choral conducting after meaningful choral experiences in the Illinois All-State Honors choir during his junior and senior year.

Jens graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Music Education and Vocal Performance. For the past four years, Jens has been the full-time Associate Choir Director at Yorkville High School in Yorkville, IL teaching four choirs and piano class. Jens is very excited to continue his education at California State University, Fullerton and begin his work as Director of Music at St. Andrew’s.

Insuk works as an accompanist for choir and services. She was born in Korea and following her graduation, she received her master’s degree in Russia. After living in Italy for a while, she immigrated to the United States.

She spend most of her time with her two daughters and cat Sophie, as well as giving piano lessons.

She like to visit art museums and explore new places. Her favorite time for herself is driving while listening to jazz at sunset.

As youth coordinator, Emily creates weekly lessons for the youth—ranging in ages from 6th grade to 12th grade—to participate in. At least once a month she facilitates evening youth group where everyone gets to spend time together and build connections. St. Andrews has been her church home for the majority of her life. She grew up in the Sunday school here before moving her way through the youth group — and has never been gone for long. When she was asked to help fill this position, she was happy that she could give back to this church that has given her such a strong sense of community and belonging.

She is also a substitute teacher with the CUSD— receiving her Masters in Teaching and teaching credential in 2023, avid gym-goer, and animal care-taker. She enjoys reading and watching movies, and spending time with her family members (even if it is just following my mom around the grocery store).

Will is super excited to be working with all of the wonderfully talented musicians in the praise band here at SABTS. He love being a part of the team that selects music for the worship services, and hearing the congregation sing, clap, and dance along on Sunday mornings is one of his favorite things. He’s been a student of music since the Third Grade, studied in college, and still consider myself a student of it.

Will and his wife, Erin have been happily married since 2003, and have 3 awesome kids - Ellie, Katie, Mark - who make them laugh every day. When he does get free time from work & school & sports, his happy place is on the boat up on Big Bear Lake.

Adrienne joined St. Andrew’s in 2023 as the Church Administrator and Facilities Coordinator. Adrienne maintains the campus event schedule. As well as oversees all facility maintenance here at St. Andrews. With a passion for logistics and the fine details, Adrienne enjoys watching all the moving parts come together. In her free time, Adrienne enjoys hiking with her family and dog, going to the beach, and spending nights in cooking and watching movies.

With over 15 years of logistics, she has coordinated everything from off-road races like the Baja 1000 and the San Felipe 500 to facilitating a 210-acre outdoor education center. She sees coordinating as a big puzzle and loves putting the pieces together to see the final results.

Passionate about serving God and others through creativity and connection, Siena loves to use design and photography to bring people together. A Sociology graduate from Westmont College, she is thankful for the experiences she has had in marketing and communications in both the business and non-profit sector.

When not redesigning the website (coming soon), working on a graphic, or teaching elementary school outside, you can probably find her running all through Santa Barbara, in the water, or taking up a new hobby.
