St. Andrew's By-the-Sea Foundation

St. Andrew's By-the-Sea Foundation, a non-profit 501(C)3 corporation, was established in 1998 and supports the programs and activities of St. Andrew's By-the-Sea United Methodist Church and other local organizations which serve the needs of the community of South Orange County, California, and specifically San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, and the Camp Pendleton Marines and their families. We are most proud of our support of the San Clemente Military Family Outreach program, and our Memorial Chapel, the only cemetery type facility in South Orange County.

History

Although formed in 1998, the St. Andrew's By-the-Sea Foundation evolved from the St. Andrew's Memorial Endowment Fund which has been in existence since 1979. Honoring deceased members through the gifting of memorial offerings is a traditional practice within the United Methodist Church. The Endowment Fund served to manage and use those memorial gifts to aid, promote, and develop the religious, charitable, and educational activities, purposes, functions, and programs of St. Andrew's By-the-Sea UMC. Since its establishment in 1998, the SABTS Foundation has sought to inspire continuous recognition and response to its purpose on behalf of the church it serves.

Foundation Board

The Board consists of not less than nine (9) nor more than fifteen (15) Members. A majority of the Board Members must be active members of the United Methodist Church and of St. Andrew's By-the-Sea UMC. The Senior Pastor or his/her delegate serves as an ex-officio Board Member.
