Memorial Garden

In the tradition of churchyard burial, the Memorial Garden at St. Andrew’s By-the-Sea is a place for the interment of the cremated remains of your loved ones. It is a place to remind us that our Christian loved ones, though absent from us, are with our Lord in eternity. The Memorial Garden is a walled and gated place of beauty, tranquility, and privacy, with walkways and benches amidst tasteful landscaping. The garden overlooks the Marblehead section of San Clemente and has a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.

Inset in the inner walls of the Garden are 480 niches, each designed to accommodate up to two polished, bronzed-metal urns, or to contain a single individual’s cremated remains. The interior dimension of each urn is 5.5 inches high, 5.5 inches wide, and 7 inches deep. The niches are faced with sunset-red polished granite. Each face-plate is engraved with the deceased’s full name, and dates of birth and death.

On the west wall, underneath the glass see-through, is an area designed to commemorate loved ones who are buried or interred elsewhere. Members of the church, their immediate family members, and friends who regularly attend and support its ministries are eligible to purchase a wall-mounted remembrance plaque. Each plaque measures 4 inches high by 8 inches long and is engraved with the deceased’s full name and dates of birth and death.
